Each routine chart style works a little differently, so you can choose the one(s) that best suit your whānau. All options can be used for different routines, such as morning, after-school, evening, and chores, plus you can mix and match for multiple tamariki.
Flip Chart

The flip chart lets tamariki cover each task with flaps once it has been completed, designed to be used on a daily basis.
Features:
- suitable for tamariki who enjoy interactive, hands-on systems
- a clear visual way to show what has been completed
- designed for one chart per tamaiti, giving them a sense of independence and responsibility
- requires no extra equipment to use once set up
Tick Chart

The tick chart is a simple visual chart where tasks can be ticked off using a whiteboard marker on the laminated surface, then wiped clean to start over for the next day/week.
Features:
- quick and easy to set up
- simple to follow
- suitable to use out-and-about
- designed for one chart per tamaiti
Weekly Tick Chart

The weekly tick chart is a simple visual chart designed to track repetitive tasks across a full 7-day week. Tasks can be ticked off using a whiteboard marker on the laminated surface, then wiped clean and reused for the following week.
Features:
-
great for tracking routines over a full week
- helpful for repetitive daily or weekly tasks
- easy to wipe clean and start again each week
Modular Tick Chart
The modular tick chart has been designed to be the most flexible option. You can cut and arrange the sections to suit your whānau, making it especially useful for multiple tamariki or different types of routines.
The space at the top can be used for either:
-
names (using for multiple tamariki)
or -
the type of chart (e.g. if you want to combine multiple routines for one tamaiti into one chart):
- Chores (Ngā mahi ā-kāinga)
- Morning routine (Ngā mahi o te ata)
- Afternoon routine (Ngā mahi o te ahiahi)
- Evening routine (Ngā mahi o te pō)
- After-school routine (Ngā mahi whai muri i te kura)
Features:
- suitable for whānau with multiple tamariki
- flexible system to suit a range of routines
- mix and match themes for a more personalised system
- simpler and more compact way to display multiple charts
Whatever you do, choose the setup that works best for your whānau. Every home runs differently, and tamariki all have their own ages, stages, needs, and interests. If none of these chart styles feel like the right fit, you can absolutely use the cards in your own way, like on a whiteboard with magnets or a pinboard.
